Perhaps Preeti Desai is a new face for tinsel town but she is a renown name in international modelling circuit.

Preeti had also won “Miss Great Britain” title in the year 2006. And now, this well established sexy model is kicking off her bollywood journey with upcoming comedy – thriller “Shor in the city” produced by Balaji telefilms and directed by “Love Sex Dhoka” fame Raj Nidimoru and DK Krishna.

Preeti is a British- Indian. She was born in North Yorkshire, England to Mr. Jitendra & Hemlata who run their own pyrotechnics company there. Preeti has one sibling, a younger sister Anjlee who is a song writer by profession.

Preeti did her schooling from Coulby Newham and then attended a three year degree program in “Beauty & Hair therapy” from Middlesburg college and later made her career in that. She managed a quality saloon for few years.

In 2006, Preeti participated in Miss Great Britain contest and originally got 5th rank but later due to allegations of impropriety objections, award was taken back from the original winner and Preeti was elected as new winner by audience poll collected by a news daily.

After this big win, Preeti came into limelight and she became a professional model. Very soon, she emerged as one of the busiest modelin th country. She walked the ramp for fampus designers and endorsed the big products and magazines like L.Orial, Cosmopolitan, Grazia etc.

In 2008, Preeti rocked the Kingfisher calender. she was the cover page model for the calender.
Even industrialist Vijay Mallya offered Preeti to be Kingfisher’s brand ambassador for Formula One tour. She got many big endorsement offers like Nokia, Hero- Honda, Cadbury, LG , Citibank etc. But the biggest offer was being a brand ambassador for “Provogue” along with Indian heartthrob Hrithik Roshan.

Now , in april 2011, she is reaching another career milestone i.e. making her bollywood debut from Balaji’s production “Shor in the city”. Preeti is portraying the character of a simple Indian girl “Sharmili” and is paired with American- Asian actor Sendhil Ramamurthy . The story is based on three distinguish but interconnecting stories set in today’s mumbai. And Preeti has also given few steamy scenes in the film with Sendhil. Film will be released sometime in April itself.

Till now, there was a buzz in the b-town that Preeti is dating actor Abhay Deol and now it media speculations say that the couple is no loner together, Well there are enough signs to support it like last time when Preeti walked the ramp for designer Saurabh Sharma in Lakme Fashion week, Beau Abhay was nowhere around. However, neither Preeti nor Abhay has spoken anything about their personal life in public.

Well “Shor in the city” is receiving a very warm response in United States and Dubai. Lets see how well will “Shor..” do in Mumbai.
